Tailgate bingo for the hours before kickoff.

Tailgate bingo turns team colors, grill-side rituals, parking-lot setups, and pregame traditions into a private spotting game for the group you arrived with.

What is tailgate bingo? Tailgate bingo is an observation game based on ordinary game-day moments around a permitted tailgate area. OutThere Bingo for iPhone and Android supports themed mobile play and private rooms for friends and families. Players should follow venue and parking rules, keep travel lanes clear, and never make alcohol consumption a challenge.

Pack note: Examples on this page are conceptual tailgate-bingo ideas. Check the app for currently available packs; this page does not promise a tailgate pack or any final squares.

Who is tailgate bingo for?

It can fit families, alumni groups, season-ticket friends, and first-time visitors sharing the same pregame gathering. A host can choose broad moments that work whether someone follows every statistic or is mainly there for the food and company. The group should play only where tailgating is allowed and should stop when packing, driving, grilling, or crowd movement needs attention.

How would a tailgate round work?

  1. Set up before the lot gets busy. Check the app, choose a suitable option, and invite the group while safely parked.
  2. Define the playing area. Keep the game within the permitted gathering space; no square should send anyone into traffic or another party.
  3. Notice shared game-day moments. Mark ordinary sights without interrupting hosts, staff, or neighboring groups.
  4. End before departure. Put phones away while breaking down equipment, walking through traffic, or driving.

What are some tailgate bingo square ideas?

These general, conceptual examples illustrate the theme. They are not guaranteed in-app squares.

Team spirit

A vintage jersey, matching family colors, a decorated vehicle, a rivalry flag, or a group chant.

Tailgate setup

A folding-table spread, a canopy in team colors, a carefully packed cooler, a portable game, or a weather-ready layer.

Pregame food

A regional recipe, a grill timer, a shared side dish, a food trade between friends, or the last plate before cleanup.

Heading inside

A ticket check, a final score prediction, a group photo taken with consent, or everyone confirming the meeting point.

What safety and etiquette rules matter?

Keep alcohol out of the challenge

Do not reward drinking, speed, quantity, intoxication, or pressure to participate. Follow local laws, offer nonalcoholic choices, and use a sober driver or other safe ride.

Respect heat and fire

Only designated adults should operate grills. Follow venue rules, keep fuel and flames attended, and never reach across hot equipment for a square.

Protect traffic lanes

Stay out of driving aisles, accessible routes, emergency lanes, and neighboring spaces. Do not chase an observation through a moving lot.

Be a good neighbor

Keep the game within your group. Do not photograph, mock, enter, or take items from another tailgate without permission.
